Arch Month: BxW - Built by Women Exhibit
April 24

Offered as part of Virginia Architecture Month.

Outdoor exhibit on display April 24-25 at the Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum, 10515 Mackall Road, St. Leonard, Maryland 20685.

Open Saturday and Sunday, April 24-25, for viewing from 10:30a-4:00p. The exhibit is located in the open air Pavilion.

Built by Women, is a juried exhibit showcasing 38 outstanding sites in the Washington DC metropolitan region where women were directly responsible for leading the design or construction of the project.

On Saturday, from 11:00a-12:00p women design professionals will be on hand to answer questions.  A few words will be shared by Jo Anne Murray Levenson, AIA, who has helped spearhead the traveling exhibit, as well as by Theresa del Ninno, AIA, LEED BD+C, who designed one of the projects in the exhibit - the Olde Towne Youth Center in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

The Jefferson Patterson Mansion, designed in 1928 by Gertrude Sawyer, AIA, is located on the grounds and sits on a bluff overlooking the Potomac River. The property is on the National Register of Historic Places and the house is included in the BxW exhibit.

Guided tours of the JPPM Grounds are offered at 12:00p and 1:00p on Saturday and 11:00a and 1:00p on Sunday. The grounds are open to the public free of charge and the Pavilion contains socially spaced picnic tables and nearby play equipment.
