Updating Your Membership Status
If you are already an AIA member and need to change your membership status or contact information, or wish to volunteer, these links will help you expedite that.Update Contact Information
Please be sure to update your contact and firm information in the AIA database. You can do so by emailing the Chapter at aianova@aianova.org or visiting the National AIA Website to update your information online.

AIA Northern Virginia welcomes and encourages member involvement. So look over our Volunteer Form, decide what interests you and let us know how you want to get involved.
Upgrade - Associate to Architect
Congratulations on becoming licensed! To upgrade your AIA membership from Associate to Architect, complete the Upgrade Form and send it to the Chapter along with a copy of your architect license. There will be no dues adjustment until your next annual invoice.
Upgrade - Architect to Emeritus
Emeritus membership is open to AIA Architect or Associate members whose membership has been in good standing for 15 successive years and the member is at least 65 years of age or is incapacitated and unable to work in the architecture profession. Emeritus members are not required to fulfill the AIA/CES requirement to retain membership. To upgrade, complete the Upgrade Form and send it to the Chapter along with a letter of explanation if the upgrade is due to being unable to work in the profession.
Transfer Membership from One Chapter to Another
If you wish to transfer from one Chapter to another, complete the Transfer Form and return to the Chapter. Local Chapter affiliation is based on the ZIP code of either your business or home address.
