Gautami Palanki, Director, and Corey Enck, VP LEED® Technical Development, at the US Green Building Council (USGBC) will discuss LEED v4, the newest version of the LEED rating system, highlighting differences between v4 and LEED 2009. Using Arlington County as an example, they will discuss why the county adapted v4 even before the 2009 version was sunsetted and how this move has incentivized green building in Arlington.
Participants will consider the differences between LEED v4 and LEED 2009.
Participants will examine LEED v4’s flexibility to adapt for different project types and its performance-based approach that calls for measurable results at every stage of a project’s life.
Participants will explore how Arlington County is incentivizing green building by incorporating LEED v4 into its Community Energy Plan and Green Building Incentive Program.
Participants will consider the changes in LEED v4 and USGBC’s 2020 vision for LEED to further global connectedness.
