About BLAST
BLAST is a new e-newsletter from AIA Northern Virginia distributed to subscribers every three weeks. All AIA Northern Virginia Members, Sponsors, and Unassigned and Affiliate members are automatically subscribed. Our mission is to bring awareness to architectural issues, distribute important Chapter information, and promote good design through news stories and featured projects.
You may unsubscribe at anytime by sending an email to blast@aianova.org or clicking "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of any issue. Please note that you will stop receiving all Chapter emails.
Submission InstructionsFeatured Projects
Each issue will feature a project from a member firm. This may be a completed, unbuilt or theoretical project. Firms are urged to submit projects, which will generally be run on a first-come, first-served basis, to blast@aianova.org. Project descriptions should be 150-250 words and may be accompanied by two or three images. Other information to include is the project name and location. You may also include a weblink if your website has more information on the project. Photos may be resized to fit the formatting. If it is necessary to crop the images or edit the description, you will be contacted first.
Featured Sponsor
We welcome our sponsors to contribute to BLAST as well. The sponsor feature in each issue is an opportunity to provide general company information, a news story, a sample project or an introduction to personnel. We ask that features be limited to 150 words. You may also submit a logo, an additional image, and a weblink. You should also include your location and a contact name.
Articles
All members are invited to contribute articles to BLAST. The subject should be limited to architectural theory or design and may be news or opinion pieces. Please contact blast@aianova.org prior to authoring your article to confirm the subject. Please note that BLAST reserves the right to edit articles for length or content, and that articles may be withheld if they are deemed inappropriate or out of character for BLAST.
